SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is currently seeking driven and experienced Carpenters and Skilled Laborers to join our growing team, based out of our Timonium, MD Office. Primary responsibilities include constructing, repairing, and installing building frameworks, fixtures and structures and performing many basic tasks that require physical labor on construction sites. Majority of the projects will be based in Maryland area. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic and other material
  • Use various hand and power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, sanders, tape measures, squares, levels, brooms etc.
  • Fasten materials together with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames
  • Check work to insure that it is level, plumb and square
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Install windows, doors, cabinets and other various fixtures
  • Follow blueprints and building plans
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards
  • Load or unload building materials to be used in construction
  • Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding and temporary structures
  • Help craft workers with their duties by carrying tools and materials or help set up equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required


REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience with concrete
  • Basic math skills to properly measure for the amount of materials needed
  • Read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, and specifications
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods and sometimes in unfavorable weather conditions
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Must have transportation to get to assigned job sites
  • Must be reliable to get to work on time, ready with all tools to do a day of good work
