Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist

Salary: 11-25 PER HOUR, DEPENDS OF THE EXPERIENCE
Job Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist will greet patients, activate patient files, and move patients through a predetermined schedule of appointments at our office. The Front Desk Receptionist should be comfortable with a fast-paced work flow and organizing their time to accomplish their daily and weekly duties.
Responsibilities:
● Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members.
● Record detailed information for new patient inquiries.
● Greet incoming patients and check-in for treatment.
● Schedules appointments for the physicians and physician assistant to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms. Prepares a daily schedule of examinations for each provider.
● Retrieves patient files from cabinet, checks for correct sequence of papers, inserts new patient record forms, and places files in sequence for physician examination or treatment.
● Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding provider of service delays.
● Will manage the office flow, bringing in patients from the waiting room into treatment areas including treatment rooms and therapy areas
● Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary. Telephones taxis or family members when necessary for transportation.
● Check-out outgoing patients by collecting payments and scheduling their next appointment, Answer incoming phone calls.
● Conducts opening and closing procedures as advised.
● Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
● Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms, therapy areas, and front office area.
● Manage laundry between patient treatments.
● Manage paper charting files and communicate billing inquiries with designated biller.
● Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions.
● Opens and sorts office mail. Delivers outgoing mail to the post office at end of day.
● Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed.
● Review current day schedule and ensure all payments are recorded in proper electronic records system.
● Print end of day sales and match cash intake with cash on hand.
● They can Know how to work on the Open dental system.
● They need to enter the insurance of the patient and scan ID of the patient.
Qualifications:
● At least 1 year of administrative experience or health care experience
● Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
● High school graduate or equivalent required.
● Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients.
● Basic office skills such as constructing emails, typing, filing, word processing, email retrieval, online appointment calendar knowledge
● Good organizational skills.
● Spanish speaking is a bonus.
