Production Supervisor

We are hiring a Production Supervisor to join our growing team on 2nd shift (12 hr work schedule). In this role, you will be responsible for supervising daily bakery production with the co-supervisor. This includes mixing, quality checks, filling, and packing products in accordance with process and quality standards to meet production schedule. In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Ability to recognized problems and resolved issues as they arrive
- Distinguishing acceptable product from unacceptable product
- Starting up and shutting down operations for line
- Documenting all required paperwork such as Batch Sheets and CCP (Critical Control Points) forms
- Achieving 100% daily schedule conformance
- Limiting down time and use time to prepare for more product or to pack and clean line. Downtime that is the result of mechanical failure, missing packaging, etc. should be reported to the lead or supervisor immediately
- Maintaining cleanliness on line and 5S standards. Equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout shift. End of shift requires cleaning of equipment, removal of any waste and garbage generated during the shift. Ensuring proper care of equipment
- Following all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintaining safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Reporting any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition
- Supporting and complying with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs
- Participating in TPM (total productive maintenance) initiatives
- Supervising bakery staff during production to include training, monitoring performance, employee morale, disciplinary action, scheduling and maintaining proper staff levels
- Monitoring bakery operation against established goals for budget, inventory, labor and other operations metrics
Schedule: Rotating weeks Typically 12 hour shifts
Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday; 9am to End of Production
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday; 9am to End of Production

- Exposure to cold and wet atmosphere and prolonged periods of sun exposure.
- Possibility of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations

REQUIREMENTS
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to supervise others.
- Ability to speak and write in English and communicate effectively with others. Spanish speaking ability a plus.
- Ability to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommend solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Intermediate PC skills – ability to use Office software including Word and Excel for internal communications and data analysis. Working knowledge of Google and cloud based applications is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in the food industry with 1 -2 years supervisory experience.
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs
- Must be comfortable with the working conditions described above
- Experience in fast food management is a plus
