Microbiology Laboratory Analyst
General Purpose:
Responsible for performing required microbiological testing of compounded sterile preparations (CSP) in accordance with established procedures
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preparation of samples, standards, inventory, and reagents used for testing analysis
- Perform environmental monitoring, gram staining, and streaking organisms to isolate colonies
- Perform standard testing of samples using various methods and instruments that can include but not limited to Particulate Matter Testing, Sterility Testing, and Endotoxin Testing
- Analyze results of testing to identify concerns or issues and discuss with supervisor as needed
- Report and document results following established procedures using CGMP guidelines
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences or related field from an accredited college or university
Experience:
Preferred experience in laboratory environment/setting of 0-1 years
Contact with others:
- Internal contact includes daily contact with all personnel and regular contact with management
- External contact may require infrequent contact with Clients

- Abilities in mathematical reasoning, arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, and visual color differences
- Laboratory equipment including, microscope, velometer, balance, autoclave, water purification system, hood operation, particulate counter, membrane filtration, endotoxin plate reader, etc.
- Standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and scanners
- Frequently requires the use of potentially hazardous chemicals and reagents. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
