Provides a clean and safe environment for the residents in the community. Insures that the building is kept clean and odor free. Provides housekeeping/laundry services to the residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertinent to the housekeeping and laundry department
  • Dusts, vacuums, mops floors, empties trash cans, wipes counters and cabinets, cleans stoves, refrigerators, bathrooms, offices, common areas and all other areas of the building as assigned
  • Reports all broken equipment and unsafe conditions and resident complaints to the housekeeping supervisor
  • Moves furniture as needed
  • Removes trash from the community and deposits it in the dumpster
  • Cleans equipment as necessary and follows directions for proper use of all chemicals and equipment
  • Assists in making sure all laundry is completed on a timely basis
  • Cleans all windows inside as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal educational requirements - elementary with additional courses
  • Must possess a general knowledge of infection control and experience in housekeeping procedures with a hotel, hospital, nursing home or public facility
  • Possesses good communication skills
  • Must be considerate and polite to others
  • Must be in good physical and mental health capable of handling the job duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally and exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able and willing to accept supervision, training and direction
  • Must be in designated uniform during working hours
  • Must have strong customer service skills
