Tax Manager
TAX MANAGER- REMOTE (EAST COAST ONLY)

The Tax Manager will be responsible for the indirect tax compliance, policy, research, and strategic tax planning that minimizes the company's tax burden and risk around the world. The successful candidate will work closely with the Direct Tax team to set up the processes and policies as well as work with businesses, external auditors, and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities. The indirect tax manager will also assist the direct tax team with the quarterly provision, preparation and review of income tax returns and global restructuring.
Key Responsibilities of Tax Manager:
- Support the non-income tax function, including U.S. sales/use, value-added tax, real/personal property, unclaimed property, and any other non-income taxes applicable
- Manage, prepare and review transaction tax filings, including sales & use tax, value-added taxes, property tax, and unclaimed property
- Manage sales and use tax audits, including gathering information, responding to audit requests, tax research and assisting in preparing appeals
- Manage and develop indirect tax compliance processes
- Ensure processes are in place to obtain sales tax exemption certificates and periodically audit those processes for compliance
- Work with the Tax team and business colleagues, to identify and negotiate tax refund and incentive opportunities for the company in the US and overseas
- Manage and perform special projects as needed
- Assist in the preparation and/or review of U.S. federal, state and local income tax returns and estimated tax payments, extension, and notices
- Assist and support preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with ASC 740
- Assist in managing U.S. federal and state tax examinations
- Assist in global restructuring and other strategic tax planning projects
Qualifications of Tax Manager:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Accounting Information Systems
- CPA and MST preferred
- This role will require a highly motivated tax professional with strong technical and interpersonal skills who wishes to pursue a career in a growing and dynamic global organization.
- At least 5 years tax compliance experience (Big 4 tax experience is a preference)
- Experience of working in a multinational and technology sector a plus
- Demonstrate experience of working to multiple deadlines.
- Be able to work unsupervised on day to day responsibilities.
- Demonstrate ability to manage a number of different issues and be able to manage own time appropriately
- Demonstrate an ability to quickly understand new technical issues
- Good communication skills being able to communicate tax technical issues easily to non-tax professionals
