Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented problem-solver to serve as the TPS Integration Section Manager to support a variety of programs within Dynetics' Advanced Materials Product Group, especially the Thermal Protection System Production contract and associated efforts. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
As an integral member of the Advanced Materials Group, the successful candidate will serve as the TPS Integration Section Manager with responsibility for leading and growing the Thermal Protection System Integration Team within the Advanced Materials Group. This position will balance multiple activities including but not limited to: * Providing technical leadership in the areas of Integration of thermal protection materials into flight vehicles
* Lead implementation of process improvements and documentation
* Participating in identification and hiring of new staff
* Provide routine performance feedback to direct staff and execute annual performance appraisal process
* Ensure team is properly trained and equipped to perform at a high level
* Organize staffing to ensure appropriate level of production coverage
* Providing support and mentorship to junior staff in both technical and professional areas
* Perform program management of tasks and/or projects
* Engage in business development activities including the writing of proposals and exercising the Dynetics program execution system Basic Qualifications A qualified candidate will possess the following: * Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with 8+ years of applicable experience, Master's Degree in Materials Engineering or equivalent with 6+ years of applicable experience, or PhD. in Materials Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of applicable experience. Degrees must be from an ABET accredited institution
* Experience executing and overseeing integration of TPS systems into flight vehicles
* Experience coordinating between government and industry to support hardware integration
* Experience in materials testing and characterization
* Experience managing classified systems, data, and hardware
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to execute technical objectives
* Experience leading a team of direct reports Other Qualifications Preference will be shown to candidates that have experience and/or capability in the following areas: * Graduate degree and research in high-temperature materials
* Experience performing high-temperature/high-strength materials research activities in industry
* Experience leading internal research and development (IR&D) activities related to materials applications, especially in the area of high temperature materials
* Ability to stay focused and succeed in high-stress, dynamic, and fast paced environments
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* Experience leading a TPS Engineering team
* Ability and desire to mentor younger staff and grow the organization Security Requirements Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) an active Secret Clearance.
